That boring tidbit in the beginning…

It is very likely that you are already an acquaintance or a friend if you are reading this blog. However, if you are a random reader looking for some info on the author, allow me to introduce myself:

My name is Matthew Ng. I’ve graduated from UC Berkeley in Fall of 2005 with a degree in Computer Science. I am now working at a company called Rearden Commerce doing user interface and JavaScript programming.

Purposeful blogging…

I have done many blogs in the past, most of which were the typical “I did this today” or “I feel like this”. Those days are behind me and I vowed that if I were to ever blog it would be purposeful blogging. And the sole purpose would be to glory God.

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
-1 Corinthians 10:31

How can a sinful man glorify God’s greatness, perfect justice, and un-ending mercy? I think the best way to glorify God is to trust and have faith in who God is. What better way to trust and have faith is to proclaim of his goodness in my life and the world? By my writing I am not only able to explain how he has changed and molded me by his scripture, but I also can reflect upon God’s steadfast love.

Let’s talk about faith…

Here is a couple tidbits of things I believe in, that will give you a good background to why I write the things I write:

• I believe in Jesus Christ as my one and only savior, redeemer, and king.
• I believe in the inerrancy of holy scripture.
• I believe in God’s sovereignty over all things and his freedom to do as he pleases.
• God is my everlasting source of hope, love, and joy.

There are many other things that I believe, but the above four points are what drives me in my faith in truth in God.

Here are some other random tidbits, that you may or may not know already:

• I attend Golden Gate Christian Reform Church.
• I enjoy making and composing electronic music.
• I used to play DDR in college and could finish 9-footer songs.
• My favorite programming language is JavaScript.
• Photography is a hobby I never start (maybe someday).
• I rarely enjoy eating onions or chives.
• I love playing on the piano (especially with a worship team).
• I can’t whistle. (or swim.)
